Magic Book

I plan to add pages from Magic Book here. Magic Book is a reference book for magical practice. It is theory intended for practice.

The purpose of this project is to create discussion on some important topics in magic.

Here I will start by listing the contents, the topics that should be written about in the Magic Book.

Clarification about book: This is an open book – as in the idea of a book. It's like the book of books on magic.

There are many topics to discuss in Magic, I would like to create a system to use them all efficiently for practice. That is the idea behind the book. Here I attempt to write down the important topics that should be covered in the Magic Book. Discussion welcome – what topics should be included? How should the contents be organized (what is the structure like)?

Topics in Magic:

  • Magic Skills and Tools, Magical Objects *
  • Rituals, Occultism, Summoning
  • Spellcasting, Spells, Sigils *
  • Dreams, Lucid Dreaming, Astral, Sleep *
  • Hypnosis and Meditative Practice
  • Spiritism, Necromancy, Spirit magic *
  • Symbolism, Mythology *
  • Aesthetics, Magic House
  • Energy (charge, waves, etc.) ** (related: Conjuring / Manifestation / Telekinesis )
  • Nature (Realms, Flora & Fauna)
  • Healing (Health, Herbalism, Acupuncture, Medicine, etc.)
  • Divination, Prophecy, Prediction *
  • Alchemy, Elementalism *
  • Tradition (Wicca, Voodoo, Religions, etc.) and History (Solomon, Crowley, Lovecraft, Merlin etc.)
  • Dowsing
  • Magic Circle, Square, Triangle, etc. *
  • Magic Portal *
  • Chaos Magic
  • Psychonautics, Telekinesis, Psi (mind magic, consciousness)
  • Illusion and Tricks
  • Sacred Geometry (Geometry), Structure
  • Crystals, Amulets, Talismans *
  • Magic Battle (connected to Tools, theory of how the battle would go)
  • Origins of Knowledge (Knowledge Tree) *
  • Witchcraft (Folk Magic and craft)
  • Familiars, magic allies
  • Cycles of Life, Calendar

(topics that I already wrote about are marked with * and ** for most written about)

I created an arbitrary division of magic into 12 schools (based on calendar). The contents above somewhat follow the schematic of the different school, however not completely. I will write about the 12 magic schools (types of magic) in another post.
